Fire (Never Dies)
Chorus of the Forest

I moved away from Ohio before I finished high school to begin my career. All I wanted and all I still want is to make music. But really quickly I started to feel the distance that was put between me and all my closest friends back home. Back in the winter of 2021 I got to travel back and hang out with everyone! It was so heartwarming to be able to just connect with my loved ones for the holidays. That trip was where the first lyrics came from for Fire (Never Dies). My little sister, husband, and I were all out in my sisters car sharing a smokeable and listening to music. Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac came on, and we immediately turned it all the way up, hopped out of the car, and danced in the cold winter air. The stars were shining and abundant above our heads. It was such a memorable moment. The rest of the song taps into lyrics of nostalgia and selfless love. I worked on this song with Adam Kapit as producer and Kayla Blackmon as my co-writer. Both not only talented, of course, but they are always so open to experimenting and stepping out of their creation comfort zones. That is so inspiring and cool to me, and I love working with people who don’t box themselves into a genre. I wanted to focus on the chorus being really fun, simple, driving, and punk pop. My biggest influences are pop punk bands and darker singer songwriters of the late 90s and early 2000s. So, my music almost always lends itself to sounding like it came from that time, even if I don’t try haha. I hope that you enjoy this track that means so much to my heart.
