I have a special connection with nature, essentially with water. For this reason, many of my songs are inspired by travel, because every time I come from one, I come back with a new learning, with my mind more open and my creativity refreshed. In 2021 I took a trip to Danubio, which was full of challenges in every way! take the popcorn, because the story is long. Danubio is a beautiful river in Valle del Cauca - Colombia, which I had wanted to visit since 2020; however, in December of that year I got COVID, and I gave it to my dad. He seemed to be fine, I recovered and we both did our isolation days and decided to continue with the plan to spend the final days of December in Roldanillo, his hometown. We were already in Roldanillo, and I remember that I was with my sister, packing the suitcase to travel the next day to Danubio, and my mother came over and asked us not to leave, because she felt that my father was not well. We decided to stay (I thank the universe very much for making us stay) and the next day my dad couldn't even walk because he was in such a bad way: he had hidden from us that he had difficulty breathing for more than 3 days because he didn't want to worry us. At that time in Colombia there were not enough ICUs, not even in the best hospitals! and we were in a town where there was not even an ICU. In short, my dad was about to die in the local hospital because they couldn't do anything for him, since they didn't have the equipment to care for him. Also, they couldn't transfer him to any other hospital because the hospitals with ICUs were full. Fortunately, a miracle happened and an ICU was vacated in a city an hour away, and after 20 days hospitalized, my dad survived... That was my first attempt to visit Danubio... I was left with a great blessing that I have my father alive. My second attempt was in December 2021, one year after the first attempt. This time we did manage to get there, but not before going through some scares... Again we were in Roldanillo, every December we travel from Medellín to Roldanillo to spend the end of the year together. I managed to convince my parents to go with my sister and me to visit Danubio, so we went straight to Queremal, a town in Valle del Cauca 3 hours from Roldanillo, where we were going to spend the night, to get up early the next day towards Danubio. Going to the Queremal, we decided to make a stop at Lake Calima, and when we got out, it was already getting dark. My dad knew the route, but we passed a turn to the right and we didn't know how to go back... so we put on waze and started to follow instructions... but we got even more lost. We were all worried because it was getting dark and we didn't know how to go back. We asked a man from the area, and he gave us some instructions that we followed. Suddenly we had no signal and we were on an uncovered road in the middle of two mountains. Nobody said a single word in the car, we were all afraid because we didn't know the area and we couldn't go back. We began to see signs on the walls of the few farms that were, there, saying that we were in the territory of the FARC dissidents. We all looked at each other, no one said anything. We were around 1:30 hour on an unpaved road, but everything went well and we were able to reach Queremal. The next day we got up early towards Danubio and we were able to see this natural wonder. Once again I was amazed at the beauty and biodiversity that we have in Colombia. The song talks about how everything around us is magic, about how much I want to feel at peace with myself and know freedom from the depths of my being, cultivating love and forgiveness, and making a conscious choice, because in the end everything in life is a decision. This trip made me confront myself, it made me value the lives of my loved ones... with the natural wonders I saw, I remembered that everything around me is magic, and while i was in silence in the car, scared to death, I began to reflect on the power of love and forgiveness, and how they can transform the world.
