4 months before our lease ended, “we” ended. I wrote "Girl Next Door" about my experience of moving into the guest-bedroom of our apartment while my ex & I were breaking up. We had moved to Nashville together and I thought we would spend our whole lives together, but life doesn't always work out as planned. She decided that she didn't want to be with a musician - someone with no real job security or steady income and things started to head south. It's the final track to be released off my EP “Polaroids”- each song is a snapshot in time during & after my last relationship. I wanted this EP to tell a story, so the tracks are in chronological order from start to finish. Girl Next Door is chapter one to my story.
