"I Just Need" is my most popular song, and it's changing my life in real time. Daniel and I released our version of this song in August and we've both never seen a reaction like this before — people are singing the words at shows, I've received messages from people who have told me this song gets them through their day, and it's growing faster than anything I've ever been a part of before. I wrote this song at a vulnerable time in my life and it's been incredibly moving to see it now live as the soundtrack for so many other people. I wanted to release a stripped back version to highlight the more emotional undertone of it, and bring it closer to the world that it first lived in when I wrote it. —— I'm submitting this song as part of the Optimism competition.
