I can have social anxiety in large groups, but I had met Toha before at this really beautiful small picnic that Pete Rango had coordinated a while back when he was in LA. There were just a few of us there that day, and we sat on this grass oasis under the Hollywood sign talking about spirituality and art. It was symbolic of the havens and connections we can find while navigating a city so focused on entertainment. Cut back to the party. So in the middle of the Hollywood Hills again, feeling socially anxious surrounded by a lot of people, and with some liquid courage, I asked Toha if he would be down to remix this song. And that's how I found another haven under the Hollywood sign - this song. Despite the story of how connection inspired this song, it's about spending time alone - about how spending time alone helped me to get to know myself better and fall in love with myself. It's also about learning to let my heart lead the way and serving as the lighthouse for my life.
