this is my song hall pass. i wrote this because I wanted to capture the feeling of self-sabotage. i’ve always had this fear that when something is going too well i’m just waiting for it to fall apart. it’s almost a form of protection and being okay with someone leaving before you get hurt, which is why i loved the title hall pass, it’s giving someone an out. the process of making this song was very natural, it started with a poem i read about fear and how it manifests in different ways. after reading that poem, the lyrics and melodies started to flow, and it all came together quite naturally :) this is a special one, i hope it resonates with you all in some way !
