Virtually unknown outside of a cabal of LA tastemakers, A/S/L has been steadily trickling sonic inspiration into the ears of other artists, filmmakers, and musicians for over a decade. Until the release of his debut single Eros, A/S/L's outré club music and sprawling “soundtracks” have been circulated by the secretive PAZ label via a mailing list, a project he started with creative director Young Replicant (Flylo, Leon Vynnehall, XX). New single Candy brings saxophone glosses over nostalgic nods to ‘80s disco. A/S/L's sound is reminiscent of the sampledelia of The Avalanches while bringing something fresh to the table with every release. Candy is the a-side from an upcoming release on 3/27.
