The Beaver Jam Club is the musicians' collective focused on cutting edge music production, founded by Brandon Schroeder. What began as an interview on the Beaver Jam Club's Artist Spotlight show, episode #4 on Twitter (X) Spaces, now available on podcast streaming platforms, blossomed into a creative friendship. Brandon had a vision to create a song based on the amazing freestyle Rohan did with the infamous loop "I Got 5 On It." The song envisioned was to be inspired by the tougher, true-to-life golden era hip hop classics contrasted by the spirit-filled, melodious vocals of reggae music. Brandon teamed up with his brother Ryan and they created the music heard on the track today. Ryan Schroeder is an amazingly talented musician and was crucial in the genesis of this track with Brandon. The song was then sent to Rohan with the help of his manager @$MoneyLoooong$ on Twitter (X). Vocals were recorded by RDG at G.L.O.W. Entertainment studios in North Carolina, US in July, 2023. When finished with many electrifying takes, the recordings were sent to @MerkleyMusic on Twitter (X) with Christopher Merkley for the mixing and mastering. The final production was done between everyone involved including: Brandon Schroeder, Ryan Schroeder, Rohan Da Great, and Christopher Merkley, however none of the production for this song could have been done without the genius of Christopher Merkley's mixing abilities. Brandon is honored to have been able to work with so many truly talented artists to bring this vision to fruition. By minting this song, "Greatness Indeed," you support independent musicians who strive to survive in a world that doesn't appreciate them nearly to the extent it use to. Streaming platforms are nearly impossible to make a decent living on alone and the expectations for what a new album release can bring-in financially are marginal compared to the amounts seen just a couple decades ago. Now with the advent of blockchain tech and smart contracts, the power can be given back to the music creators as opposed to the hand's of big business. Nowadays versatility within independence is the key to any successful artist and Rohan Da Great exemplifies those traits. We’ve seen plenty of rappers pay homage to, and dabble in the Dancehall/Reggae genre, but not many artists can switch genres completely and still hold their own. It seems as though many artists are incapable of finding that elusive sweet spot in their artistry to deliver on both spectrums. Rising Dancehall star RDG, more recently known for his chart-topping releases like “Fallin’,” and “Unfair Games,” which made it to #1 on iTunes and the Top 100 on Urban Radio respectively, has cracked the code. Although Rohan is currently seeing success in Reggae genres, he originally entered the game as an MC, hence his SM handle @rohandagreatmc. Rohan had a promising rap career with releases, but somewhere along the line he decided to switch it up and it worked effortlessly. He just expanded his reach with the newly released track, "She Single" and then the longly anticipated collab song with the Beaver Jam Club "Greatness Indeed."
