The first line of this song, "This next song's a story that I wrote... Authored in blood and tears and smoke," is really true to my experience. While I toured around the San Francisco Bay Area with the Ghost of Wrights band, this song took a more rockin' feel. With electric guitar, bass, drums and of course banjo, Unto Me appeared on "EP II" with a driving beat. However I wrote this song in more of a downbeat mood. I essentially call myself a joke, and say that singing songs only seems to be a joy for myself. And waiting for that angel or jewel of a person was all that matters. If they ever change their mind, "Run Unto Me." This solo guitar version gets a little closer to the original intent I had penned that one night at band practice. I sometime write rather quickly and when I wrote this song, I scribbled the whole thing into a spiral notebook while I sat in a chair at the rehearsal space for our band "The Ghost Of Wrights." We were having a cigarette break. When we got ready and were going to play again, I remember saying that I had written a new song. The guys were surprised because it took me less than five minutes.
