“I’m Not Him” stems from wanting to explore love a little deeper, a love that went beyond romance. The song was born from a conversation with a friend who went through a breakup which resulted in a lot of distrust about future relationships. It was evident that she was using her past relationship to deny herself the possibility of having a better experience in the future in a bid to prevent herself from being hurt further. SKIES was left feeling down about his friend's unusually pessimistic feelings but also inspired, as he decided he wanted to write the song from the perspective of being the one to show her that not all relationships are like her previous one & that not everybody is like him...
