DILAN SKIES is back with an 80’s inspired Pop track about two heartbroken people who find each other. You know, like every Meg Ryan rom-com ever. Cute, right? The trouble is, only one of our lead characters gets attached. The song is both sung & written from the perspective of the forlorn suitor who’s finally found his “missing piece to feel complete.” Unfortunately, his Juliet is only after a distraction. Undaunted and enamored by her coolness, our lovesick narrator laments his unrequited love over a groovy bassline punctuated by punchy brass. Silky, breathy/bright vocals lay atop frisky, playful percussion. ‘No Love’ not only tells the tale of an ill-starred romance, but the track also echoes Michael Jackson’s early toe-tapping funk anthems whilst simultaneously carrying a contemporary freshness that brings a whole new fun to SKIES’ catalog. ^^^^ As you can tell, I fully immersed myself in the 80's vibe & had so much writing this one!
