hot take: the best art is made outside of studio walls
there are over 100,000 new tracks uploaded daily to Spotify, and it’s more accessible + convenient than ever to create any kind of music using sample libraries and AI. so why bother creating anything, and what sets me apart from the flood of generated sounds?
this year I set an intention to create music away from my comfort zone — to put myself in physically demanding locations/climates that few would be willing to go to, and explore the connective tissue between life outdoors and the sounds it inspires.
I don’t really have a solid blueprint or path to follow at the moment — but between hauling music gear up mountains and camping out alone in ski huts, I’m having so much fun re-learning how to produce in new + challenging environments
this process takes a lot more energy and perseverance, but all the best things in life usually do 🙃
lots of new releases coming your way in 2024, thanks for being patient with me (and for caring to listen when you have so many options)
