Safar Maqam, is an ancient Kurdish piece from Mesopotamia. I composed this solo guitar piece based on this mode (Maqam). Safar means trip and this melody narrates the sad feeling of a foreign and homesick voyager. The first monody phrase, is a short part of the Maqam and the entire piece resonates on it.
