I was listening to a lot of Bessie Smith at the time. I knew I wanted trombone and clarinet on the track. I wrote it real quick one day after I came home from working sound at a jazz club. I asked my buddy Dylan to record upright bass remotely in 2022, and he sent it over to me. I think it was 2023 when I asked Duoyi to come over to my apartment to record the Clarinet part, which I did with my own equipment. Then around May 2023 I asked Justin to come over and record Trombone. Also I recorded myself playing piano, when we still had a piano in our apartment.. So then I mixed it all and got it mastered by my friend Frankie. Very excited to share my first NFT with you all on this platform. I'm excited by the potential it provides for artists to live independently from a corrupt music industry.
