The Demo Days: Melancholy Thoughts (October 2nd, 2018) This is one of the first songs David and I made together. It’s boom bap, making it one of the rarest songs in our portfolio, as most of what we’ve made together is trap and pop. I was hooked the second the beat dropped into the pre chorus. Ethereal and melancholy. The pre came to me instantly, “we can’t take it slowly, what’s faster than time?”. I had been down a lot those days. We were a little over year into living in LA. Time seemed to be flying by and I felt like I was, at best, just treading water. This feeling made me question my decision to leave my family and New Jersey. Was the decision too selfish? I’m trying to figure that out the whole song. It’s funny, in one week I move back to New Jersey.
