We’ve all heard stories about the lost city in the depths of the ocean. There’s always been something that’s drawn me into the idea of mystical creatures living under the sea. This song is off of my debut album, a special piece of my heart and soul. A monumental moment of time in my artist career and I’m so excited to share it right here on Sound exclusively. Encapsulating my story of coming to America from South Africa, living in LA in the middle of a global pandemic. Atlantis is about finding a safe haven amidst chaos and the bliss of finding a space to retreat. It took me almost 3 years to finally find that feeling again after moving to a new country and going through so much to make it in LA. I made this song with my favourite artist/producer Os Young, lyrically it really flowed so effortlessly that we immediately knew we had something special and meaningful. Visually continuing from Black Ice, building the storyline of KAIEN which is a character based on my life experiences. I teamed up with my good friend and graphic artist Alex Rodrigues to create an underwater backdrop with a modern twist on the lost city of Atlantis. This is the second drop of many that I’m planning for my debut album and I can’t wait to continue this journey with you all. With love always - Kai
