I have always loved Christmas music. Songs such as "White Christmas" and "Let it Snow" paint beautiful pictures of snowy days that are so commonly referred to in Christmas narratives. Falling snowflakes and nights around the fire weren't quite what I experienced as a kid growing up in sunny South Florida, so songs like "Christmas Island" really hit home for me. Jimmy Buffett's version has been played in my house for as long as I can remember and after his recent passing I wanted to pay tribute with my own take on it. -Kurt
