A few years ago, I went through a breakup which marked the end a six-year relationship with my ex. I was emotionally devastated... and was by no means looking to meet someone new. About 3 months later, I met my now girlfriend and we hit it off. I felt myself falling in love with her and wasn't sure if I was ready for that. I was Nervous that I'd end up getting my heartbroken once again, but ultimately took the leap of faith. I decided that a chance at true love is worth all the risk in the world.. and thankfully I was right. This inspired "Nervous". My girlfriend and I have been happily together ever since and this song has become a sort of anthem for us. Although this song is extremely personal to me, it's message is universal. This song is for anyone who has been Nervous to allow themselves to be vulnerable again after getting their heartbroken.
