This is an instrumental song dedicated to sugar cane workers in the valley of Cauca river in the southwest of Colombia, aiming to evoke the beauty in the subtleness of everyday movements, cutting techniques, machete types and the resulting soundscapes happening in the crops. The instruments I used for this plucked strings quartet are two acoustic guitars, a Mexican instrument called "requinto jarocho" and a Colombian instrument called "bandola andina". The music composition is based on two main fonts of inspiration: a not very known piece by John Zorn called "Cristeros" and traditional violin music performed by afro-descendant communities along thevalley of Cauca river called "juga".
