Love is, and always will be, something that brings out the best and worst in all of us. I always thought I knew how to go about loving something, whether it was a person, a thing, an experience or myself. Time and time again, I am shown that that love is not what I was taught or know it to be. I am always thankful for any moment that shows me just how little I know, especially when it comes to the things I have always believed to be true. In my brief time away, I have had many of those moments, and that's where this song comes from. A special person, a tough situation, the feelings of love, pain, loss and gain all combined into a beautiful and heavy moment. This is about knowing that what you want is to love, but never being able to get it right.
