"Solid State Chemicals" follows in the footsteps of the band‘s debut album "Too Many Too Much", being a full 10-track album produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by the legendary Grammy-winning Metallica producer Flemming Rasmussen at his Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The result is the band's best work to date. Staying true to DEAD STAR TALK’s melodic, polyphonic and guitar-driven sound, while braving into new sonic territories, such as incorporating the unique psychedelic qualities of the Turkish Saz-guitar. In the words of Flemming Rasmussen himself: "Working on Solid State Chemicals really gave me a buzz, it’s still very much DEAD STAR TALK, but its more layered and complex than the previous work we’ve done. I think this album will make a lot of people realise that there is a lot more to the band, than the simple guitar rock nostalgia trip they sometimes get written off as“.
The songs move effortlessly from swaggering "wall of sound"-esque shoegaze anthems to reflective and fragile ballads, while playing with a lyrical universe that takes obvious inspiration from the Pop Art movement, with its love for hiding deeper meaning behind deceptively simple, recognizable, ironic and almost mass-produced hook lines.
DEAD STAR TALK's massive and melodic guitar-driven sound is as instantly recognisable as the band is rootless, being based in Hamburg (DE) and Copenhagen (DK), and fronted by two guitar-wielding singers. Namely Christian Buhl, born in Germany to Danish parents, raised in Brussels (BE) and settled in Hamburg (DE), and Günes Kocak, born in Turkey to Turkish parents, but fled to and eventually settled in Denmark during his early childhood. The band’s grounding comes from Copenhagen born and raised rhythm section Erik Jensen (Bass guitar) and Claus Nielsen (drums).

Lyrics:
Verse 1
Bringing all our desire
Burning pawns never tire
Call the dawn calm the fire
Be the choir now
Bridge
Sing along now honey
Singing on the money
Singing on the honey
Sing a song for money
Chorus
Solid state chemicals
Hate still loves magical
Solid state chemicals
Love still hates logical
Verse 2
Bring it on to inspire
Everyone’s madly wired
Shining sons with desire
In the choir now
Bridge
Sing along now honey
Singing on the money
Singing on the honey
Sing a song for money
Chorus
Solid state chemicals
Hate still loves magical
Solid state chemicals
Love still hates logical
Mid-piece
We’re in it alone
Hover or roam
We’re in it alone
Hover or roam
Skin and bones
In it alone
Sticks and stones
Hover or roam
Skin and bones
In it alone
Sticks and stones
Hover or roam
Chorus
Solid state chemicals
Hate still loves magical
Solid state chemicals
Love still hates logical
Solid state chemicals
Hate still loves magical
Solid state chemicals
Love still hates logical
Outro
The chemicals
Are Logical
But Magical
