Don't Stress

I wrote this song when I visited Atlanta for the first time. Fueled by the musical energy from the city, I channeled my stresses away and dreams into reality. For my senior year physics capstone, two friends and I decided to build a fully self-sustainable tiny house. This required us to work long hours every weekend, but one weekend I was booked for a studio session and music conference in Atlanta. I was stressed out for missing a grueling weekend of work, but music quickly brought me back. I was in Atlanta pursuing my dream, so I told myself, “don’t stress.” The song quickly took shape after that. As the hook says, “life is gonna push your buttons but don't stay pressed.” This is me reminding myself that life will always be hard, things will always go in directions you don’t expect, and to stay flexible throughout the process. This song reminds me that you don’t always have control, so “don’t stress, no please don’t stress.” The verses explore my struggle with these stresses and how, at the end of the day, I’m trusting the process like farmers with fruit. I tend to my goals, hoping one day they bloom. This also relates to my experience volunteering at a community garden throughout my college years, which showed me how this process occurs. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your support!!
