It was my last night in Poland before returning to the US when I wrote this hook. Driven by the light-heartedness of the beat, I came to realize that this is my life right now and change is out of my control. I wanted it to be simple and relatable since life can become so complicated. Oftentimes, making music helps me simplify my issues, so I tried to bring that energy into this song. For me, this vibe clears my mind and helps me lock into what is actually important around me. It's that deep breath you take when you feel too much weight on your back and are finally able to release it. Smile because you can, not because you need to. I want to inject the feelings of dopamine and serotonin within this track. In the verses, I tried to break down the issues I battle with such as greater purpose in life, external pressures, and underachieving. By the end of the second verse, I say, “hit or miss you still land somewhere, so go there, go learn there, it’s probably for the best, lost a piece well it's chess, got my mates and my check, so I’m winning, I guess?” This reminds me to keep pushing throughout your journey despite any expectations, and to stay curious.
