The third out of eight singles from “Music Inspired by BIONICLE: Vol. II” is out! This time, we make a short stop in the depths of the jungles, to hear The Singsongs of Le-Koro. I was originally planning to release another song prior to this one, but that will have to stay in the oven just a little longer. Meanwhile, I was eager to try this one out as soon as possible, and the end result feels very much worth it. The idea of this track is very easy. A short instrumental consisting of nothing but percussive instruments, with inspiration taken mostly from African tribal music. But why is this the case? Well… Those who’ve followed the BIONICLE-storyline, particularly it’s arc ranging from 2001 to 2003, will know of the village of Le-Koro, and their drums that echo throughout the jungles of Le-Wahi. In a nutshell, this track takes the idea of Le-Koro’s drums, to it’s absolute extreme. With the exception of myself, percussion work was also done by two very talented multi-instrumentalists in their own right, Nigel Robinson and Bill Burns. Their work proved vital to make this as layered and immersive as it could’ve been, and both of them deserve immense credit for that. After writing this, I’ll go straight back into working on the album. I’ve truly started to slowly and progressively put all eggs in one basket, and get as much done, without dragging out the process. Will it work? We’ll let fate decide. Until then, I’ll catch you all later! Love and peace!
