I went in an 80s direction on this one - with a lot of synths and drums driving this forward. you can throw this on a road trip and I think it really fits well. the chorus melody didn’t hit me until later - I almost left a chorus off of this one and just was going to have an instrumental hook, but luckily it hit me and I think makes the record a lot more playable and catchy. This whole album is pretty upbeat/electronic/dance, and this track really represents the direction I wanted to go with it. It was one of the first songs I completed off the album, and guided how I produced the rest. For the artwork, I used AI to create it, and it pulled images of New Zealand for the mountains. I spent a month in New Zealand, and wanted to reference it for the imagery.
