Dominican-American artist Esty is a lot of things—a singer, rapper, and songwriter, a skilled roller skater, a lover of all things very cute, and a strong presence on both Instagram and TikTok. Over the past few years especially, she’s cultivated a signature sound: a surprising mix of future-warped dembow and sonic nods to anime dipped in electronic alt-pop. Singing and rapping in Spanglish, the Venice, California-based artist promotes an empowering union of emotional vulnerability and personal strength.
