BUZZ is one of the most impressive vocalists we’ve heard in the last decade. She’s a songwriter with credits on mainstream tracks by Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, and Bebe Rexha but her own music is closer to pure art. We first heard her track Liberation — a heart-stopping, stripped-back vocal with only a vocoder synth for texture. It was raw and powerful, signalling the entrance of someone stepping out of the songwriter role in the background and owning the stage as her own. Across the rest of her catalog, BUZZ’s voice effortlessly shifts from pop hooks to almost operatic highs with complete control. We were lucky enough to work together to bring Liberation onchain and create 12 different remixes from the community. We followed up with Different Sun, and now we’re back with an extremely limited edition of her new single. There will only be 50 editions of “Left Behind” — another vulnerable and honest track about moving on from her upbringing, letting go of fear and being free in as many ways as possible. For me, it’s the perfect song to launch our new series of limited editions, where we treat outstanding music moments as works of art. This feels like a turning point for a new artist breaking out and owning her own story. Hope you like it as much as we do.
